Calling Home

Don't you hate that the best and nicest people have to deal with the worst things? This one goes out to a dear friend. :)

Lights - Ellie Goulding

You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine it when I'm alone
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
And dreaming when they're gone

Chef Boy-Ar-Derrick

So starting this blog post, I really am not sure what I plan on writing or where I plan on going with this today. I am just quite bored and really need someone to talk to because I am lonely. And thankfully, you readers of my blog post will be whomever I talk to. I just feel bad because I really don't have anything too interesting to talk, and nothing too exciting happened today.

In my free time lately, I have been watching an old anime called Yu Yu Hakusho. If you have never heard of it and like anime at all, you will love this. It is Dragon Ball-esque, even having tournament scenes and everything. You can look up old episodes online... that is where I'm watching it.

Also, I have been thinking about my friends a lot today. There are some old and relatively new friends I am really, really missing today. There are other old friends that I am glad that I have moved on from for my own personal development. Some of their attitudes have really helped me improve myself, and I have kept those people in my life even if at a distance. I have eliminated those that have dragged me down over time.

I'm going to cut this short now though because I am watching more Yu Yu Hakusho and making homemade macaroni and cheese. It is probably going to be delicious... Chef Boy-Ar-Derrick.

Mind-numbing...

You may have realized from reading my words or watching my videos lately that my life in general has just been less than exciting. But for a moment, I would like to take the blame of this off of me and put it on another fact - the amount of intelligent and mentally stimulating conversations that I have had as of late is incredibly minimal. Nearly all of the conversations I now have relate to relationships, life advice, and just overall very superficial things.

Now I would like to start this thought by defending the generalizations I will be making, but do realize that 90-95% of the people I normally associate with are females, so my generalizations here are only due to that fact and that fact alone.

So many conversations as of late are about superficial and material things that have no larger impact outside of oneself. Discussions of relationships, life problems, hobbies, appearances, and daily activities is amusing every once in a while, but the constant worry about what others think of you and your appearance and past gets to be so strenuous and mind-numbing. Hobbies and daily activities tend to link people together due to their commonalities, so these are obviously decent things to discuss. Unfortunately, when you combine these with discussions of "hooking up", "going out to bars/parties", and other non-important things, discussions go downhill quickly.

I am not asking for all conversations to be intelligent and productive all the time, because just as anyone else would want, it is nice to have mind-numbing conversations involving gossip, work happenings, and relationships from time to time (because we all might loose our minds otherwise). But with the lack of discussion about how to better our personal futures, our society's future, and our planet's future, nobody is ever growing or developing. Once in a while it would just be nice to hear some analysis rather than superficial nonsense from people.

Related to this subject, I've always found it funny how people use me as a life coach and relationship coach. I am neither of these things. I am not yet successful in life, and my accomplishments are minuscule to date. Sure, I am a happy and semi-productive individual now, but I wasn't always that way. Also, when people come to me for relationship advice, I cannot help but laugh. I have only been in one serious relationship, and that obviously failed miserably after about 3 years. Overall, my friends and I would say I've only been in 2.5 relationships (lol). But honestly, why would you bother to ask me for information in a field that I am terrible in. I can't make first impressions, I can't sustain a healthy relationship, and I can't make people happy. Sorry! Just don't ask me because I don't know. And if you do ask me, don't blame me when your relationship crumbles underneath your feet.

I guess that is all for now. Sorry you have to weed through all of this ranting text just for two relatively minor points. I guess I'm just one of those people who would rather rip the band-aid off quickly than deal with the pain over a long time. So the band-aid comes off now, and let your wounds be healed.

"Those Nights"

This song seems to fit how I am feeling quite well right now. So... thanks Skillet! ^_^

Wanna listen to the song? Then click here!

"Those Nights"
by Skillet

I remember when
We used to laugh
About nothing at all
It was better than going mad
From trying to solve all the problems we're going through
Forget 'em all
Cause on those nights we would stand and never fall
Together we faced it all
Remember when we'd

Stay up late and we'd talk all night
In a dark room lit by the TV light
Through all the hard times in my life
Those nights kept me alive

We'd listen to the radio play all night
Didn't want to go home to another fight
Through all the hard times in my life
Those nights kept me alive

I remember when
We used to drive
Anywhere but here
As long as we'd forget our lives
We were so young and confused that we didn't know
To laugh or cry
Those nights were ours
They will live and never die
Together we'd stand forever
Remember when we'd

Those nights belong to us
There's nothing wrong with us

I remember when
We used to laugh
And now I wish those nights would last

Martha Stewart? Bubbles? Dogs?

So am I your average Martha Stewart or what? For real? At work, I have been putting together these displays and things. I know they are neat and all, so I am very proud of myself. I never realized before how much thought and creativity had to go into landscaping and things of that nature. Hopefully this stuff sells though so I don't have to deal with it much longer!

Working in a garden shop is fun in comparison to working elsewhere, and its a totally different experience. The people are just an absolutely different breed. The only real problem is the long, exhausting hours on incredibly hot days like the last 2 days have been. 88 and 92 degree days are just way too hot to be loading all the stuff that people want. Why can't I be lazy like other people are? Oh, that's right... I have a work ethic and care about my job even though it looks like it is just a "dead end" road.

Now I have to ask... has anyone every played this game? My friend Cece introduced me to this stupid online game back in 2008, and I have been addicted ever since. Free time? Bubble spinner. Procrastination? Bubble spinner. Nothing good on tv? Bubble spinner. Talking on the phone? Bubble spinner. It is terrible! So... go get addicted to Bubble Spinner.

Just so you know, I have been listening to this album almost nonstop since the beginning of April when it came out. So I think that means you should check out The Strange Case Of... Halestorm.

There's also a puppy doggy I really like whose name is Nik. I took his for a walk today and it was great! The next time I get pictures I will have to put some up!

Thanks guys for reading! I know this was a lot of pointlessness today, but there's always tomorrow where I may have some more entertaining rants. Who really knows? ^_^

Introductory Post and Random Thoughts

So... hi guys! I haven't used this blog in a long, long time, and I figured why not try using it again.

Anyways, if you were not aware, I am back to making YouTube videos. I will try and get multiple up a week, though I can't make any promises whatsoever. Sorry! If you didn't see that reintroduction video, here it is: HypnosProjectHQ on YouTube

In other recent news, I'm also selling a ton of Pokemon card and video game stuff on eBay right now, and I am going to be selling tons more in the coming weeks. I need to get a vehicle, and I also need money to catch up on the Pokemon TCG as well as pay some future bills I know I am going to have. And it would also be nice to establish a savings. So if you have a kind heart and some money, would you please check out my eBay store? When I update it with more items, I will try and post to remind you to look. Here you can find that: HypnosProjectHQ on eBay

If you weren't aware, you can find my HypnosProjectHQ accounts on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Most of what I post on this blog will be random things I do in life or are otherwise unrelated to my YouTube content. Because everyone enjoys something random as all goodness once in a while... Like hiking. :) So fun! I love doing random things with my friends.

Speaking of my friends, I'm thinking about moving back to Madison. I miss my friends there way too much! And another one of the people I consider myself to be closest to is moving there on Monday! So sad... I'm going to miss her a ton over the next couple of months. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself over that time!

Last but not least... don't do this to people... please. The most painful thing in the world is when you have feelings for someone, and they just start treating you like a best friend, start calling you their best friend, or, worst of all, start saying you are like a brother to them. There is near no way to stop this madness. And I am Going to have to at least TRY to find a solution, though I know it is near impossible. Don't be a victim of the "friend zone", and don't put your guy or girl friends into it either. It is a terribly awkward place to be.

Alright. That's the end of my rants and thoughts for this evening. I have other things to get done, but... I bid you all farewell. And thank you for hearing out the inner machinations of my mind. Thank you Patrick, thank you... lol

Peace guys,
-Derrick "Hyp"
