Oconomowoc, WI Spring 2012 Battle Road Report

Hey guys! Like I did for the La Crosse tournament, as I play, I will update my post here in Oconomowoc, WI. Tournament starts at NOON on Saturday, June 16th.

Round 1 vs Josh D. W/Durant/Mewtwo
Josh opens with Mewtwo and a DCE and takes 5 straight prizes to open the game. I lock down Trainers and hit quad tails twice. I manage to KO the Mewtwo and 4 straight Durants to pull a complete turnaround and win the game.

Round 2 vs Colleen L. W/Eels/Mewtwo
She took the first couple prizes with Mewtwo, and I then KO'd 3 Mewtwos only giving up 3 Vanilluxe prizes.

Round 3 vs Andy R. W/Darkrai/Tornadus/Mewtwo
He started with a terrible hand. Throughout the whole game, he only played 3 Supporters and flipped 1 for 4 on Dual Ball. I only got to play 4 Supporters, but that was good enough for the game.

Round 4 vs Mike L w/Darkrai/Tornadus/Mewtwo
He took 4 relatively quick prizes, but I didn't ever flip quad tails so I returned with 3 straight KOs against EXs.

Round 5 vs Yoshi T W/Darkrai/Mew/Accelgor/Vileplume/Chandelure
I did not take any prizes and never even had a chance to get my ice cream out.

Top 4 vs Yoshi T W/Darkrai/Mew/Accelgor/Vileplume/Chandelure
Both games 1 and game 2 went very similarly to the games in round 5. Unfortunately I lost both of these as well and ended up in 4th place after going in to cut in 2nd seed.

La Crosse, WI Spring 2012 Battle Road Report

Hey guys! Throughout the day today, I am going to be updating this blog post as my Battle Road report here in La Crosse! Normally I just post my match record on Facebook, but I think I am going to do that still and give details on games here. I don't expect to do well by any means, but we will see where things go! ^_^

Round 1 - Rose R w/Entei ex
She dominated the game from the beginning. I prized both Smeargles and could not draw well for entire game. I only took 2 prizes and fell to Entei.

Round 2 - Bob P w/Darmanitan/Gardevoir
I took a fast lead by KOing his Mewtwo he opened with. Then I took 3 more prizes before he took his first against an Eelektrik. I promote Mewtwo ex and do 380 damage to his Darmanitan for the game.

Round 3 - Danielle L w/Zeels/Terrakion
She took a quick 3 prize lead and then wiffed on drawing a DCE she needed to take a 5 prize lead. I take 6 consecutive prizes, KOing 3 Mewtwo ex.

Round 4 - Danyelle S w/Durant
She had to leave so I was given the game without playing.

Ended up 3rd place and got myself a Victory Cup trophy card.

New phone!

So... this news does not really matter to most people, but i got a new phone. And now if i want to, i can blog from my phone like i am doing now. Enjoy it!

50 Random Facts

So I decided tonight that I am going to do a super, super fun blog post that includes a ton of random facts about myself. This way if you have any questions that I don't answer here, you can ask me and I will answer them. ^_^ 1. I have lived in 4 different cities in my life - Waukesha, Oconomowoc, Madison, and La Crosse... all in Wisconsin.

2. I attended 2 different grade schools, 2 different middle schools, and 2 different universities, but only 1 high school.

3. I want to do so many different things with my life that I can't decide what I want to do first.

4. My favorite sport is baseball, and my favorite MLB team is the Milwaukee Brewers.

5. My favorite bands, in order, are Red, Halestorm, Evanescence, Skillet, and Art of Dying.

6. When I was very little, I was in a Rubbermaid cooler magazine ad.

7. In high school, I was the managing editor of the newspaper, yearbook, and literary-arts magazine.

8. I have five best friends, and they all know who they are.

9. I play the Pokemon Trading Card Game competitively and have since 1998.

10. My favorite video game in Chrono Trigger, and my favorite franchises are Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior/Quest.

11. I want to go back to France several times in my lifetime.

12. I want to visit Japan someday.

13. I love sports played with racquets... tennis, racquetball, and ping-pong (I know this is more like a paddle, but... meh!).

14. I have dated 2.5 girls (inside joke ^_^).

15. I have seen my favorite band, Red, in concert 10 times thus far.

16. I participated on the math team multiple times in high school.

17. I am currently being a vegetarian, and I was once in my past as well.

18. I have worked on-and-off at K-Marts for 6 years.

19. Because I am often around uneducated people, I usually use small and simple vocabulary even though I am actually very well-spoken.

20. I worked on the Obama campaign in 2008.

21. The only god I worship is the Pokemon, Arceus.

22. My favorite TV show is still Survivor, and it has been for 12 years.

23. My guilty pleasures to listen to are Lady Gaga, LIGHTS, and Taylor Swift.

24. I just saw a commercial for "tagless underwear" while writing this.

25. Even though math is not my strong point, I took up to Calculus 2 in high school. I have not taken a math class since.

26. I prefer cats to dogs.

27. I have pet aquatic frogs, and I have since I was in elementary school.

28. When I was a kid, I lived on a farm.

29. I collect retro video games.

30. The first thing I did when my family got the Internet was download Evanescence songs.

31. My favorite animal is the penguin, though turtles are funny too.

32. My nickname through high school was "D-Rock".

33. Yes, my last name is pronounced "cranky".

34. The only Apple product I own is a 1st generation iPod.

35. My previous handles online were "Zidane_of_Tantalus", "thghtlsscrmng13", and "luckyunununium".

36. My favorite weather is rain unless I have to walk in it to work.

37. I love texting, so if you ever want to have a convo, just ask me for my number.

39. My favorite food, though I am currently a vegetarian, is mussels.

40. My favorite color is navy blue.

41. 90% of my clothes are either band t-shirts or sports t-shirt/jerseys.

42. I have never used any tobacco products or illicit drugs.

43. I love bowling, although I haven't in a long time, and I own my own bowling ball.

44. Anyone can talk to me about anything, and I will be comfortable.

45. I watch baseball on TV any chance I get.

46. I do not enjoy going to bars to drink.

47. I love to cook, and my favorite things to make are poutine and stir fries.

48. I love ethnic foods - French, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Italian, etc.

49. I made the Top 128 at the Pokemon National Championships in 2010.

50. I love going to concerts and talking pictures at concerts more than almost anything.

So starting this blog post, I really am not sure what I plan on writing or where I plan on going with this today. I am just quite bored and really need someone to talk to because I am lonely. And thankfully, you readers of my blog post will be whomever I talk to. I just feel bad because I really don't have anything too interesting to talk, and nothing too exciting happened today.

In my free time lately, I have been watching an old anime called Yu Yu Hakusho. If you have never heard of it and like anime at all, you will love this. It is Dragon Ball-esque, even having tournament scenes and everything. You can look up old episodes online... that is where I'm watching it.

Also, I have been thinking about my friends a lot today. There are some old and relatively new friends I am really, really missing today. There are other old friends that I am glad that I have moved on from for my own personal development. Some of their attitudes have really helped me improve myself, and I have kept those people in my life even if at a distance. I have eliminated those that have dragged me down over time.

I'm going to cut this short now though because I am watching more Yu Yu Hakusho and making homemade macaroni and cheese. It is probably going to be delicious... Chef Boy-Ar-Derrick.
